June 30, 2012
One day in the middle of June we heard a radio commentatorrefer to this month in western Washington as “Junuary”. OK, it was midday and it was just 55 degrees. The sun was no where to be seen and a light rain wasfalling. Just to add a little dataI checked the averages for this June in Anacortes. The average high temperature was 65, the average low was 48,and there were about 10 sunny or partly sunny days.

We had noticed that the locals were getting a little whiny about the weather, sort of like South Texans when the high reaches 90+ on anOctober day. But Ross and me, noway…we’ve been reading about all our friends and family sweltering inTexas. We think that June was justfine! And one of the local weatherexperts has assured his listeners that summer is coming...on July17th!!
